USF projects selected for new research program bring the potential to solve critical challenges

Four interdisciplinary teams of USF researchers have each been awarded up to $1 million in seed funding through the Collaborative Research Excellence and Translational Efforts awards 鈥 a new initiative designed to catalyze new research and enhance USF鈥檚 impact. The USF-funded CREATE awards will support the launch of research projects in the areas of innovation, technology and aging, antimicrobial resistance, precision medicine and AI-generated materials.

USF is seeing unprecedented growth in its youth summer camp offerings, with significant increases in the number of camps and double the number of participants. While it may appear to be just summer fun, many camps offer a peek at career options and serve as the first point of contact at USF for future Bulls.

AAU Membership Fueling USF鈥檚 Momentum

USF鈥檚 historic invitation to join the Association of American Universities has taken what many in Tampa Bay have once considered a 鈥渂est-kept secret鈥 to an unprecedented new level. Being an AAU member is a tremendous milestone for USF as it formalizes USF's position as a leading research university. USF is the first public university in Florida to be invited to join the AAU in nearly 40 years and is now one of only two institutions from the State University System of Florida to serve as an AAU member.
